Banana VPN is a simple VPN provider. Fully functional since 2007, we can’t say that Banana VPN has made much progress during its 12-year existence. It doesn’t exactly offer the best features, and its server network consists of a mere 15 VPN servers across seven countries. Banana VPN has live chat support, but it was offline when we tried to use it. The customer protection policies could also use some improvement, especially the seven day long refund policy.
Banana VPN didn’t leave the impression necessary for us to recommend this provider to you. We advise that you look for other, more capable VPN providers. Read our reviews of the best VPN providers, and pick the one most suitable for your needs.
Banana VPN doesn’t have cutting-edge features. Its feature set is quite poor, consisting only of the following features:
These are not exactly state-of-the-art VPN features. Banana VPN is missing some essential features like a kill switch, AES 256-bit encryption, torrenting support, leak protection, and high connection speed that form the core of every top VPN provider. The fact that Banana VPN doesn’t have these features prevents us from recommending it to you.
Banana VPN has a small VPN server network. Since 2013, Banana VPN has only 15 VPN servers in the following countries:
Banana VPN states that its services are suitable for bypassing geo-blocked content restrictions. We must point out though that the size of the server network directly contributes to the ability of a VPN provider for geo-unblocking. Considering that the top VPNs have thousands of servers across a variety of countries, we can’t label Banana VPN as ideal for geo-unblocking.

Banana VPN doesn’t offer speediest VPN connections across its entire network. From what we were able to find on its website, and by asking live chat support, Banana VPN offers the following VPN connection speed:
That’s a respectable speed, but with further digging we found that the speed and stability of its VPN connections differ from one VPN server to another:
We don’t know exactly which of its VPN servers have a strong or weak VPN connection. We don’t know if the connection will suddenly drop, or how it will behave if servers are overcrowded. You need to choose a proven VPN, such as the reliable and speedy StrongVPN, so that you don’t wind up with poor connections.
Banana VPN has three pricing plans: monthly, six-month, and yearly. The company offers a money-back guarantee during the first seven days after purchasing its product.
You can either choose to purchase the:
To put it bluntly, these prices are way to high for what you’re getting in return. A VPN like Private Internet Access has plans for less than half of what Banana VPN is asking, and access to over 3200 servers!
Banana VPN accepts payments made through all major credit cards.
Banana VPN has poor customer support. It claims to have live chat support, but when we tried to make contact they we 100% MIA. You can find the following customer support:
Nothing about this customer support impressed us in particular. The FAQ section consists of only 14 subcategories, and email support is available every day of the week from 8:00 to 22:00 GMT UK Time.
Banana VPN offers the following customer protection policies:
This is one of the absolute worst privacy policies we’ve seen. Why in the world of all that is good do they need a copy of your ID? Are they going to share that with their service partners as well? Hard pass.
Our final verdict is that Banana VPN is a below-average VPN provider. There is simply nothing special about them. They don’t have strong features, their server network is average at best, and the customer support is largely insufficient. We tried reaching live chat support, but there was no response to our inquiry. Banana VPN’s pricing plans are considerably expensive, and their privacy policy is a joke.
We finish this Banana VPN review by stating that Banana VPN is not an ideal VPN provider, especially considering how expensive its services are. If you want to use a reliable, trustworthy VPN provider, check out some of the top VPN providers that we have reviewed on our website.
