Bee VPN is a provider that has been around since 2010. The company claims to offer fast and secure VPN services on any device. Despite its long presence in the industry, it only has a small network with just four servers.
As our Bee VPN review will show, this small of a network creates lots of problems. This means that you have very few options to choose from, and limits the services offered by the company. We also found its plans less appealing despite the relatively low price. The company’s site can also be cumbersome to use.
We don’t recommend this provider because of these issues, so check our list of recommended VPN providers to find better options.
Bee VPN has a fairly standard set of features that include:
These features can be found in many other providers. Bee VPN claims, however, that it is one of the few that combines the features of PPTP and OpenVPN-based providers into a single package. We, however, have reviewed many.
Outside of these standard features, Bee VPN has SeeAllTV, a feature that lets you unblock a variety of sites, including popular streaming sites like Netflix and Hulu. Bee VPN says you can access the following Netflix servers:
This is a decent list of options even though you’ll probably be interested in just one or two of these locations. There’s just no avoiding the fact that there are many better Netflix VPNs out there as Bee VPN simply doesn’t have the server numbers.
Bee VPN only has four servers in four different countries, covering the following locations:
This is probably the smallest network we have seen so far. If you want more locations, we recommend that you use a bigger provider like IPVanish VPN. This provider has hundreds of servers and locations, giving you greater options.
One thing worth noting is that Bee VPN claims to maintain its own network. This includes creating the software that runs its servers.
The site also says that Bee VPN applies for the IP addresses it issues to customers. These are good indicators that you get strong security, but the small network means you can’t take advantage of that feature to the fullest.
Bee VPN claims to be one of the fastest VPN providers, touting its ownership of its network as one of the main reasons. The site, however, does not provide any data to support its claims. This makes it hard to determine what kind of performance you can get.
Reliability is also a big issue here. With just four servers to choose from, you don’t have many options in getting a good connection. This is especially problematic if you are using Bee VPN for content unblocking. We suggest that you instead look at our list recommended geo-unblocking VPNs.
Bee VPN offers three different pricing plans, namely:
All of these plans are inclusive of the following:
You need to pay an additional $1.35 if you want to use Bee VPN from your mobile device. The site accepts payment through PayPal, credit cards, and Bitcoin.
While these prices are fairly decent, you still end up not getting your money’s worth with Bee VPN’s features and limited network. We suggest that you look for more cost-effective options elsewhere, such as CyberGhost VPN, one of the most affordable VPNs for a long time.
Bee VPN offers customer support only through email. You can send your questions and inquiries to email@example.com. You can get an additional customer support channel only after you sign up for an account. This makes this provider less user-friendly for would-be customers who are just exploring the site.
The company does provide guides for running its service. These guides are divided by platform types and covers installation and the use of the features. They are illustrated, making them easy to follow.
Bee VPN claims that it does not log the traffic that goes through its servers. While it will cooperate with law enforcement agencies, Bee VPN states that it won’t disclose customer information to these authorities. The company does state that it monitors your login times and session duration to optimize its systems.
The company provides a full money-back guarantee for all its plans. The guarantee is available only for 14 days and is applicable only if the service becomes inaccessible during the prescribed period. You need to send a request to customer support to get the refund.
We noticed that the terms of service are not easily accessible from the main pages; you need to search for it separately. This might be due to some design issues with the site, but we find this unprofessional.
Despite some good points in our Bee VPN review, we find this provider lackluster. We liked the fact that Bee VPN owns its whole network, but its network is very small, with only four servers available.
This issue has a significant effect on the overall assessment of this VPN provider. The small network significantly hurts Bee VPN’s reliability since you’ll have few options. This also makes Bee VPN less cost-effective. We recommend that you check our top 10 list to get better prospects.
