TorVPN is a UK-based VPN provider that claims to use only stable and fast servers. It claims to use a certificate infrastructure, instead of a static encryption key, to prevent any potential data leaks. TorVPN offers a low number of servers, and its user base is not big. It offers a seven-day free trial which allows you to use one server and have access to up to 2GB of traffic.
TorVPN supposedly doesn’t limit speed. It claims to have live chat support; if it’s offline, you’ll be advised to use email for contact. TorVPN is available on both desktop and mobile devices, and the VPN client offers a variety of different protocols, including PPTP, OpenVPN, and Tor proxy servers. According to its website, TorVPN maintains a no log policy.
They are, at best, and average provider. If they appeal to you in some way they are not a bad choice, but there are much better choices in our Top 5 VPN Providers list.

TorVPN claims to offer some of the best features you can find today. We’re not so sure if TorVPN offers the best features, but they sure are some top-quality features that a user should look for in a good VPN:
We have to admit that some of these features are topnotch. Allowing users to create their own custom VPN package is great. Not to mention the fact that TorVPN maintains a no-logging policy and supports P2P networking.
They allow users to establish 20 connections from a single VPN account, though purchasing the package to get 20 connections from one account is pretty steep. Nevertheless, it’s good to have this as an option.
This section shows why TorVPN fails to be ranked as a top-quality VPN provider. When it comes to servers and countries, TorVPN offers only 11 servers in eight countries. You can find its VPN servers in locations such as:
TorVPN has around 100 users, which is mediocre for a user base. TorVPN’s most popular and fastest VPN server is the one located in Budapest, Hungary; the speed of the server is 100,000 KB/s. This server also has the biggest number of users—currently counting 54 VPN users.
The servers that TorVPN offers have different speeds. The speed will vary depending on the server you choose:
The VPN server list below shows you a more detailed representation of the speed of the servers.
According to its website, TorVPN offers fast and stable VPN connections. Users are free to choose which server they want to connect to, and they’re also free to switch servers whenever they want, free of charge. TorVPN uses a strong encryption code, which allows you to scale your encryption rate by up to 4096 bit. This supposedly prevents any of your data from leaking, but we can’t confirm this statement for now.
TorVPN recommends that you use its “Earth” VPN server. This is TorVPN’s favorite and most reliable server, physically hosted by TorVPN itself. For low latency and high speed, TorVPN advises that you choose the VPN server closest to you. Of course, with only 11 servers, you’re not given that much choice.
TorVPN offers a variety of different packages. Users can choose to opt for a free VPN plan, a paid option, and also a customized package. TorVPN offers the following VPN packages:
All of these packages include different features. The Cheap VPN is a highly limited version of TorVPN; it doesn’t have an SSH tunnel, allows only one connection per account, and is limited to 2GB traffic. On the other hand, the Gold VPN package allows four connections per account and offers unlimited speed and unlimited traffic.
There is always the option to create a custom VPN package where you determine the number of servers you want to connect to, the number of connections per account, and the amount of traffic.
TorVPN is somewhat limited when it comes to offering good customer support. Here are TorVPN’s customer support channels:
The setup guides and FAQ section are useful. Email support had average response times.
TorVPN has live chat support, but we had no luck in finding that chat feature actually online. Without a functioning live chat support, we get the feeling that TorVPN hasn’t done enough to meet its users halfway in a time of need. When the live chat support is out of reach, you can email customer support via a ticketing system.
Top-quality VPN providers care about the protection and security of their clients by providing iron-clad customer protection policies. Let’s see what kind of protection policies TorVPN has:
Apart from the strict no-logging policy, TorVPN doesn’t have the strongest customer protection policies. The weak refund policy is particularly disappointing.
We have mixed feelings about TorVPN. We can’t say that we were impressed with what we saw, considering that we have reviewed the best VPN providers in the industry. However, there were positives and negatives.
We liked the fact that TorVPN uses a strong encryption method to protect its users, and its no-logging policy is certainly more than welcomed. However, we didn’t like the fact that it has only 11 servers in eight countries. Its customer support was insufficient, with the live chat support nowhere to be found during the entire day we were writing this review.
All in all, we rank TorVPN as a mediocre VPN provider, and average at best. We recommend going with other VPN providers in our top 10 list. If you choose to click the link below, it’s not a bad choice. There are, however, much better choices.
