Turbo VPN is a free VPN provider based in Singapore. They are popular for their price, and dangerous for all of the things which we do not know about them, what they don’t tell us about them, and how lazily they have built everything they manage. Unfortunately, over 50 million downloads of their Google Play app have happened, and no doubt because people didn’t read professional VPN reviews about them.
They have no customer support (and use Gmail address for inquiries), a dubious and difficult to find privacy policy or any terms of service, and they don’t make any mention of what encryption policy they have. Even their parent company, Innovative Connecting, hides what they actually do. Their “Our Team” photo is a stock cartoon image!

You only get seven days for free and then have to pay, during the free trial you are bombarded with ads, and they share little to no information about themselves. Features
Turbo VPN do not seem to understand what a VPN feature actually is. Instead of listing features like their encryption protocols, kill switch feature, traffic obfuscation tech, or even something as basic as their logging policy so you know what they’re doing with your data, is completely omitted from their website. Servers & countries
Once again, Turbo VPN fails to provide adequate information. They have shown roughly there their servers are on their website:
This, however, isn’t good enough. What cities are they in? How many servers per city? There is no information on this until you download the app (which, again, we do not advise you do). Free users get 9 servers in 8 countries, paid users get 29 servers in 15 countries.

Speed & reliability
Turbo VPN claim to offer up to a 10GB/second connection. This is a truly impressive number, and we shudder to think of what they have to do in order to pay for that much bandwidth on a free service.
Independent testing has found this to be a complete and total lie. They have been shown to halve Internet speeds. Speeds can really plummet during peak hours to rates too embarrassing to report on.
Pricing & payments
This Turbo VPN review wouldn’t be happening if they didn’t have a free service, it is simply the only thing remarkable about them in a sea of very questionable conduct. They do offer paid plans though, with the prices as follows:

- 12 months: $2.99/month, billed yearly
Those are your only choices, and you shouldn’t take either. Even for a one month trial they’re too expense, especially considering their miniscule server offering.
Support
We’re not sure if they have any actual support beyond their replies to comments on the Google Play and App stores. They say they have “7X24 hours maintenance management,” whatever that is actually supposed to mean…
We found that they have no live chat support, and that all their emails are sent to a gmail account – which is not a sign of a reliable VPN provider at all. Emails sent to them can take 48+ hours for any kind of reply. It seems the only way to get them to react is if you threaten their reputation on Google Play or Apple’s App Store.
Policies & logging
If you view their website you will not find their privacy policy at all. It simply doesn’t exist, and is another sign of their attempt to deceive you. The only way you can see their privacy policy is after you have downloaded the app, and it has some unfortunate things to say:
Any data they collect on you will be ‘shared,’ meaning sold, to third parties. They claim to log a minimal amount of information, but we feel absolutely no need to trust anything this VPN provider says about what they do.
A notable policy of theirs is that they do not allow P2P or torrenting, and those that do will have their connections blocked. Choose a VPN which does allow torrenting instead!
Expert recommendation
We genuinely hope that this Turbo VPN review stops people from using this dubious service, with origins in China (and it’s frightening reliance on using tools exactly like this to spy on people) and little data on who anyone is, this is a free VPN that could cost you big time.
Their privacy policy is hidden, and has clear data-sharing policies in place. They don’t allow P2P/ torrenting. Their customer support is non-existent.
