Top Vpnsecure Review Providers

VPNSecure Review

Before you buy a VPN suitable for Your Needs from the first company you find, check the reviews. We test, review and rate the top services for Vpnsecure Review. We want to make sure you get the highest quality Vpnsecure Review, the fastest turnaround time, the best support, the lowest price, and the guarantees to back it up. Don’t waste your money on scams or poor-quality providers.

Avoid the scams and use the services that actually work below:

VPNSecure was founded in 2010 and is currently available on multiple platforms, including Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android, and routers. Aside from its VPN (which is the focus of this review), the Australian provider also offers corporate VPNs, dedicated IP addresses, smarter DNS, and other services.

VPNSecure’s customer support is responsive and reliable. They helped us when we experienced some difficulty connecting to a VPN server. Once we got past this hurdle, we found the VPN client easy to use.

VPNSecure repeatedly claims on its website that it is a zero-log VPN company, so we looked into that policy. You can find out more about this under the Policies & Logging section. Even after all this, we do recommend VPNSecure to those who are interested in them, but acknowledge that we have reviewed better providers at the links above.

Features

VPNSecure has basic features that are common among VPN providers, along with some unique ones. Here are the most notable features from VPNSecure:VPNSecure review app settings

  • Customizable cipher strength: Users can change the type of encryption to DES-CBC, AES-128-CBC, or AES-256-CBC. This feature is helpful when you need to switch to get a faster connection over heavy encryption.
  • Non-restrictive app usage: Advanced users can choose not to use VPNSecure’s app and instead generate configuration files using the provider’s open source versions.
  • Stealth VPN: This feature changes the tunnel content so that the VPN can work even in the most restrictive firewalls (such as in China).
  • Leak fix: This helps fix IP leaks, DNS leaks, the UDP port leak caused by Windows, and the issue about IP addresses not changing in Windows 8 and 10.
  • Disable IPv6
  • Disable Internet on disconnect: This is VPNSecure’s version of the kill switch. This will disable your Internet connection if the VPN connection drops. The feature is available only on desktop apps.

They have a great mix of standard features, as well as a few unique ones which help establish them. Their Stealth VPN feature is particularly admirable.

Servers & Countries

VPNSecure has servers 96 server locations in 48 countries, which include the following:

  • US: 10 server locations
  • UK: three server locations
  • Switzerland: three server locations
  • Japan: three server locations
  • Italy: three server locations
  • Canada: three server locations

Being in 48 countries is above-average for a VPN, but their very limited number of servers per country could cause lagging. There are no issues right now, but they will have to grow their server numbers quickly if they want to really compete with the biggest VPN providers in the industry.

The provider’s website has a dedicated page that lists all of their server locations, and even shows which servers are online. You can also see this information in the app.

Reliability & Speed Tests

After we installed the VPNSecure app for Windows, we couldn’t connect to any server at all—that’s already a minus point. Thankfully, the live chat support was responsive and helpful. After a few troubleshooting instructions, we were able to connect successfully to a VPN server.

Speed test results were not so compelling. Here is our Internet speed before connecting to VPNSecure:

Here is the result after connecting to VPNSecure:

We switched the cipher strength to DES-CBC, and the speed dropped to 180 Kbps! This is contrary to the provider’s claim that weakening the cipher can improve speed.

We also tested with the Stealth VPN feature turned on, and the speed also slowed down:

Needless to say, these are not the best speed test results. While the average Internet surfer will not notice the drop too much, anyone who streams or torrents regularly will.

Pricing & Payments

VPNSecure is one of the most generous freemium VPN services. Its free tier includes all features and servers, and the data cap is at two GB for 30 days. The provider’s paid plans are:

  • One-month: $9.95 per month.
  • Six-month: $8.32 per month, billed semi-annually.
  • 12-month: $6.66 per month, billed yearly.

These prices are slightly higher than other VPN providers in our top ten list. They’re not outrageously priced, but they are a little higher than some of the best providers, especially their long-term packages.

Support

VPNSecure’s customer support comes in three forms:

  • Knowledgebase: This contains helpful resources, including FAQs, setup and troubleshooting guides, and other VPN-related articles.
  • Contact form: You can find this form on VPNSecure’s website support page, or in the app’s support tab. After submitting the form, you will be asked to wait for 30 minutes. True to their word, we did receive a helpful response within the indicated period.
  • Live chat: Real people are behind the live chat support, it’s not a bot. We validated this when we experienced technical problems after downloading the app.

Overall, VPNSecure’s support is really helpful. You’ll be chatting with a real person, not just a bot that will copy-paste answers based on keywords. Live chat can help with most technical problems, so there’s no need to use the contact form and wait for half an hour. The knowledgebase is also a useful resource to answer your questions before you even ask them.

Policies & Logging

The provider’s privacy policy is short, and there’s no dedicated page for it as they bury it in the company’s terms of service.

The first few sentences of VPNSecure’s privacy policy states, “It is VPNSecure Trust’s policy to respect the privacy of its members. VPNSecure Trust will not monitor you or your use of the service, including its contents unless VPNSecure Trust has reason to believe that such action is necessary to: (1) conform to legal requirements or comply with legal process.” This immediately made it clear that they are able to monitor users, but claim to not to. This is intriguing and concerning.

The policy went on to say that VPNSecure only keeps the username, encrypted password, and email addresses of its members. The company does not log the following:

  • IP address
  • Connection timestamp
  • Disconnection timestamp
  • Bandwidth consumed
  • DNS requests

VPNSecure further claims that DMCA notices cannot be forwarded to users because of its no-logging policy. We haven’t heard or read of any complaints on these fronts yet from users. We will update if we hear anything.

Expert Recommendation

We find VPNSecure to be suitable to users who are looking for options on their encryption based on their need for speed or security as the provider allows changing the cipher strength to weaker standards in exchange for faster speed. If you’re serious about security and you need the latest encryption standard, we recommend using the highest possible encryption standard: AES-256 bit, which they offer.

VPNSecure’s logging policy doesn’t make us feel secure. We wish that they had given it more importance, like other providers that have a dedicated page, and expanded upon it. More importantly, the first few statements make us suspect that the company is monitoring users, while the most private VPNs aren’t even capable of it as traffic is encrypted properly.

If you want to spoof your location to bypass geo-blocks, VPNSecure is a good choice, but don’t expect a high-definition streaming experience as they can be slow. If you need something faster, see our reviews of the best VPNs for streaming.
