StrongVPN offers one of the most comprehensive VPN services in the world. Their network is good, spanning 24 popular countries, while still retaining adequate speed and reliability. StrongVPN’s VPN software is adequate, but switching between servers is clunky. Their pricing is about average, but you really get a great VPN service in return. We would recommend StrongVPN for most users, especially if your main usage is browsing, video/music streaming (such as Netflix), or traveling internationally while wanting to unlock content in your home country. They do not rank higher because nothing that they do really stands out. Their software is adequate, but doesn't have the advanced features or smooth functionality of those which we rank higher. They don't have an excessive exceptional price for this lower level of client, so they are going to remain ranking right around mid-pack.

CyberGhost VPN are definitely a top 5 VPN provider. Reading their privacy policy, and the fact that they do allow p2p and torrenting traffic on nearly all servers, you may rank them as your top choice for a VPN if you do a lot of downloading. Their software has features, like their killswitch, that put them on par with the top of the line Hide My Ass software. For fun, they also have a cute the animation that makes the experience that much more pleasant. They also benefit from being located in Romania as this country is well known for online privacy rights. What’s holding them back from the top spot is their connections do drop slightly more often than IPVanish and Hide My Ass. Their VPN Kill Switch does save you from being exposed, but no problems would be better than a solution to a problem. For the price you pay for their VPN service, one of the lowest in the industry, and all the features of their software, you can’t go wrong when you choose CyberGhost as your VPN provider.

Total VPN are a new VPN provider with some strong promise. They have located their servers across a wide number of countries over the planet, and they have a good client. Connections are also strong and reliable. However, their general beginner-friendliness is hampered by the fact that their client isn’t optimized as well as it could be. It also lacks useful features like a killswitch and failover. Having these two features alone would put them into an elite status. It is also not recommend for anyone wishing to hide their P2P traffic, or those who truly wish to be 100% anonymous online since they will work with law enforcement. The perfect Total VPN user would be someone who is new to VPNs, with few demands for privacy, who wants to unlock geo-blocked content. If this is you, sign up for an account with them today.

ExpressVPN are an above average VPN provider with a software package that will satisfy the new VPN user. Those with more experience may be bothered by the lack of clear direction as to which features their software has. Use ExpressVPN if you want:

Mullvad are serious about privacy and anonymity. They do that with their dedication to OpenVPN encryption. That encryption level along with a cash payment method, no logging policy, and allowance of p2p makes for a very private VPN experience. Where they stumble is with their low country server location number )24), and low overall VPN server count. There are many VPNs that have high privacy standards, and they all offer more servers in more countries which opens up more chances to get around geo-blocking. If you’re in one of the countries where they have servers, and only want to unlock content from those countries, they are recommended. Mullvad is a VPN that we definitely want to comtimue watching, as we have been since they started out with servers in 4 countries. With a few more servers in a few key locations, they may just find themselves shooting up our rankings even further.
I found Mullvad through a friend and I'm pretty happy with their service and their strong policies for anonymity. Very important for me. They're pretty fast nonetheless and their support is on point every... View More
