I did not see this week’s top movie coming at all! It shows what happens when a 720p copy breaks during a slow week in movies, that’s for sure! A few other new movies show up too, read the most downloaded movies of June 24, 2016 to see what they are!
The top movie this week, in a surprise surge to the top, was Hardcore Henry. This unique first-person shoot ’em up had someone upload a 720p version, and fans went nuts for it. It really is one of those movies that has to be seen to be loved, and it needs a high quality viewing. Other new movies on the list this week include Demolition, Vigilante Diaries, and The Conjuring 2. Of those 3, it’s The Conjuring 2 which is generating the most positive buzz.
There are 2 movies on there which I must make special mention of: Now You Se Me, and Independents’ Day. Yes, it was the original Now You See Me from 2013 which was downloaded so often this week, not the new Now You See Me 2. I guess you all were feeling a bit nostalgic, or wanted to get up to speed. I get you. The other movie, Independents’ Day, is not the sequel to Independence Day. It’s an indie film with a similar name which, at this point, I think is being downloaded a bit more often than people would like to admit because they think it’s an early version of the sequel.
I am glad to see the Tina Fey starring Whiskey Tango Foxtrot hanging around the top of the list, she’s a talented woman in different sort of role. See it in theatres if you have the time. For reasons I can’t explain, The Huntsman is still popping up, How to be Single is still polluting our bandwidth, and Criminal is assaulting the eyes of the innocent and guilt alike. Tragic times…
